Q.
I am writing in English because Mojibake happens when I write in Japanese.
This is the exact case I want to ask about.

Could you advise me of why at some BBS or Blog(ex. Excite Blog) Mojibake happens and of course, how to solve it.

Here is some info:
i Book Mac OS9.2 (this is a mac I bought in US years ago)
Internet explore
Moji-Code(from Edit-Preferance) is set as Universal Auto Detect.

I never have problem looking at web sits in Japanese nor receiving+sending e-mails(outlook express).

I would really appreciate it if you could provide any advice.

私は、Mac OS Xなので、少し環境が違うと思いますが、お使いのブラウザ、インターネットエクスプローラ以外（例えばSafariとか、NetscapteやMozillaなど）でも同じ状況でしょうか？

ExciteのBlog（＆最近の多くのBlog）も、この掲示板もエンコードにUTF-8を使っています。

今私の　Mac OS Xで確認したところ、IE（5.2）はUTF-8で作成されたページを　　読む　ことはできますが、そのページに　書き込もうとする　と文字化けします。
SafariやNetscapeでは、文字化けしません。
なので、MacのInternet　ExploreがUTF－８をきちんと処理できないのでは？と思います。

ですので、IE以外のSafari、Netscape、Mozillaなどのブラウザ（いずれもMac版あり）で試してみてください。

WindowsのIE（現在6.0）も、以前のバージョンのときにUTF－８の処理がうまくできませんでした。　Mac用は5.5が最新（？）バージョンで、これ以上新しくなる可能性は低いので^^;、是非、別のブラウザで試してみてください。
